- What is 432 Hz tuning?
- It sets the reference note A above middle C to 432 Hz instead of the 440 Hz standard. Every other note shifts with it by the same ratio, lowering the whole piece by about 32 cents — a little under a third of a semitone.
- Does converting to 432 Hz change the tempo?
- No. The recording is shifted by one exact frequency ratio, so the performance and its timing relationships stay intact. Total length changes by that same ratio — under one percent — and nothing is time-stretched.
- Will it reduce the audio quality?
- WAV and FLAC are retuned losslessly by rescaling the sample rate, so the samples are untouched. MP3, AAC and M4A are re-encoded because those formats only allow fixed sample rates. Either way the output keeps your original format and is re-analyzed to confirm the result.
- How accurate is the result?
- The converted file is decoded and re-measured against 432.000 Hz. A pass means it landed inside the tolerance you selected — ±0.4, ±0.04 or ±0.004 Hz. If it misses, the app re-converts from the fresh measurement and tries again, then reports the verified A4 and how many passes it took.
